Iran has reportedly responded to the US proposal, emphasizing ending the war and ensuring maritime security.

(Tehran/Washington) Iran has responded to the latest U.S. ceasefire proposal through mediator Pakistan . Meanwhile, Iran continues to emphasize its firm control over the Strait of Hormuz, highlighting the importance of this negotiating bargaining chip.

The Iranian military warned that countries cooperating with US sanctions against Iran will face difficulties passing through the Strait of Hormuz; violations against Iranian oil tankers and merchant ships will also provoke fierce strikes .

The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported on Sunday (May 10) that Iran has submitted its response to the US negotiating proposal to Pakistan. According to the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA), Iran's response focuses on ending the war and ensuring maritime traffic safety in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier on Sunday, IRNA quoted an Iranian military spokesman as saying that Iran has established a new legal and security system in the Strait of Hormuz, and any ship wishing to pass through the strait will have to coordinate with Iran in the future.

The spokesperson also warned: "Those countries that follow the United States in imposing sanctions on Iran will certainly face difficulties when crossing the Strait of Hormuz."

The day before, Aziz, chairman of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, also wrote on social media: "We warn governments, including microstates like Bahrain, that supporting the US-led resolution will have serious consequences. The Strait of Hormuz is a vital lifeline; do not close its gates with your own hands."

According to AFP, the United States and Bahrain have drafted a UN Security Council resolution demanding that Iran cease restricting shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

Aziz posted again on Sunday, saying, "From today onwards, our restraint has ended. Any attack on our ships will provoke a strong and decisive response from Iran against US ships and bases."

The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy also warned on social media on Saturday (9th) that any aggression against Iranian oil tankers and merchant ships would provoke a fierce attack on US-controlled and enemy vessels in the region.

Qatar's Foreign Ministry said on Sunday that Prime Minister Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Araqchi warned during a phone call that using the Strait of Hormuz as a tool of pressure would only exacerbate the Persian Gulf crisis.

Iranian media: Mujtaba meets with military commander and president. On the same day, Iran's Fars News Agency reported that Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba met with Abdullahhi, commander of the Central Headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces Hatem Anbia, and gave him new instructions.

According to reports, Mujtaba praised the army and announced new measures and action plans to continue to strike the enemy forcefully.

Abdullah said that Iranian forces are on high alert and that Iran will respond swiftly and forcefully should the enemy make any strategic mistakes, act aggressively, or launch any attacks.

The report did not specify the exact measures Mujtaba ordered, or when the two met.

Mojtaba was wounded early in the war and has not made a public appearance since. Iranian President Peshiziyan revealed on Thursday (7th) that he met with Mojtaba for two and a half hours, marking the first time a senior Iranian official had met face-to-face with the new Supreme Leader.

CNN recently reported that U.S. intelligence believes that despite the Iranian regime's internal divisions and unclear decision-making power, Mojtaba is likely playing a key role in formulating war strategies, along with senior Iranian officials.

CNN: Iran's hardline faction seeks to sabotage negotiations In another analysis published on Saturday, CNN stated that as US-Iran negotiations enter a critical phase, Iran's ultra-hardline Jebhe-ye Paydari faction is attempting to sabotage the talks and prevent an agreement from being reached.

Despite their small size, the Resilient Front is influential, with members who bill themselves as guardians of the values of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Observers often describe them as “super revolutionaries.”

This faction views resistance against the United States and Israel as a never-ending struggle. Many members believe that merely considering reaching an agreement is tantamount to surrender.

For the past month, Iranian officials have been carefully balancing negotiations with US President Trump with appeasing domestic factions. While the Iranian leadership has attempted to project unity, the Resilience Front has amplified its opposition in the media, parliament, and on the streets, even accusing Iranian negotiators of treason.

According to reports, the Resilient Front's radical stance and attempts to sow division have led Iranian conservative hardliners to view it as a marginal faction, resulting in its increasing isolation.
